Nate Davis: Basketball court used to be out here. Just one light pole, like that and just a wooden backboard. This was where we played basketball at, horse shoes…you know they built the tennis courts. I don’t remember the exact date the tennis court was built, but we don’t use them. When I say we, the kids and adults in the community are not using them. Jerry Neville, who worked for the Town of Chapel Hill, he used to come over on Saturday morning and give us free tennis lessons, but other than that… It’s well used, we have students from UNC that come over and use the tennis court and everything. You know, we have tennis lessons through the Parks and Recreation Department that kids could sign up for, but for some reason they’re not doing it. I blame the adults in the community along with myself. Maybe we’re not doing enough to get those kids involved in those activities. You know, and we didn’t have this playground equipment, but we had a playground down here. To us it was one of the best playgrounds in the world. We had fun on it.
