Eugene Farrar - Family helping family (clip)

Interviewed by Kathy Atwater and George Barrett on March 11, 2023

Eugene Farrar (EF): I used to help when I was 12 or 13 years old, but I couldn’t handle big rocks like grown men could, but I would go out and give my hand every once and a while, and of course, I didn’t get paid, but it was a thing of family helping family. And of course, if I didn’t get paid, sometimes we would have hog killings, and things like that, because that’s what we had to eat during that time. Today we think it’s unhealthy, but we survived off of it and off of those things. And again, he was a wonderful person – great attitude – so I’m just proud and happy to be able to help you all preserve his history.
