Collene Rogers: Well, the only thing he did, I think the books he got, was like twelve of them. He was still working, and he was still going out and working during the day. And after dinner at night is when he would go out in his car and read the books. And so, he did that I guess, for about a, had to be over a month or two. And then he got the license and he passed and so, he told them, he said, “you don’t stop me from doing it,” you know, because that is what he wanted to do. Once he got his license they never bothered him. And he was able to go ahead and do his plumbing. And I know that he just didn’t want to work for anybody, because of how he was treated when he was working. But, he was working because one of his other best friends and almost all of them were working for Danzigers, the Rathskeller and the Ranch House, and all of that. They called him in to do plumbing and repairs and stuff that they needed to do. He told them that he would do it on a case by case basis but he didn't want to be employed by them. She said that was okay and she still wanted him to be their primary plumber. She wanted to give him group insurance with them and he told them no. He said, “If you’re giving me insurance I'm gonna be working for you.” She said, “No, I know you don’t want to work,” but she said she wanted our family to have insurance coverage so she wanted him to be included in their group policy. And so that's how he did it. And he said, “as long as I can pay you for it.” And so he would send her the money monthly for that.
