Collene Riggsbee Rogers - Home improvement (clip)

Interviewed by Kathryn Wall on March 11, 2023

Collene Riggsbee Rogers: Yes, I have to handle a whole lot. I’m out there by myself. I have to handle a whole lot, you know. I fix plumbing leaks for the toilet. I have a whole house filter so I change that. And I paint. I do all of that stuff. But I did it when I was in New York. I did it in my apartments. I used to paint and stuff. Because you learn it when you have to be out there, whether you’re doing it or not, but you’re there. Yeah, I can do quite a bit. And I had to learn. I never liked yard work - I didn’t like that. That was my mother’s stuff. There used to be bugs and stuff out there so I didn’t like that. But now I even do that. I trim my hedges, I do planting and stuff like that – stuff that I never wanted to do, but you find out that you have to do it.

Kathryn Wall: Or you have to pay someone to do it.

CRR: Yes.
