Arminta Foushee - On her grandmother serving as a delegate (clip)

Interviewed by Kathryn Wall on September 29, 2022

Arminta Foushee (AF): She would usually be appointed as a delegate to the annual conferences. They used to be held in June but now they’re in May of each year. And she and her sisters, they would get chosen to be delegates as well, her sisters that were still on Lake James and so they would meet at conference and get together. They were cute [sounds of agreement].

Kathryn Wall (KW): Sisters reunion on top of some church business.

AF: Yeah and I would take them. I would always take them, they were so cute. I’d have to take them to University Mall to look for hats to wear to conference. That's what I was driving. “[Arminta] can you take us down to that mall so we can get our hats for conference?” They were cute, that's when ladies wore hats--that's out of the ( ) – nobody wears hats anymore.

KW: They wanted a special– not just the regular Sunday hat– they wanted a special one for conference.

AF: Oh no, they had to have a fancy hat for conference.
