Lincoln Hospital

"...I was doing a part-time job at Lincoln Hospital where I was taking x-rays from one hospital to another...It was $7.50 every two weeks. And I would stop by after school in the afternoon, and I would go in the lab. They would give me several x-rays, and bus fare, and I would go from Lincoln Hospital right down the street and catch the bus. Catch the bus, and go to Five Points, and there, you'd have to get a transfer to go to Duke."

- Clarke A. Egerton, Jr.

Lincoln Hospital (1901-1976) was a Durham, NC hospital serving Black residents of Durham County and the surrounding area. Today, the building houses Lincoln Community Health Center.
