This interview is a part of an oral history project starting in 1982 in which Kathryn Wall interviews key people connected to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Caldwell is an African American man whose family has lived in Chapel Hill for several generations. The interview starts off with Mr. Caldwell detailing the history of the Caldwell family and their educational and work background in Chapel Hill. A majority of the interview is Mr. Caldwell reminiscing on his several decades spent working in the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity house just off of UNC’s campus.
