Interviewed by Kathryn Wall on September 26, 2023

Kathryn Wall: So to contextualize a little bit this period in the church’s history, you said you were out doing your thing during this time period, what was Chapel Hill like in the mid-70s?

Patricia “Pat” Jackson: Rebounding and trying to stay afloat from the segregation and uproar of the 60s in the south, and I remember just the life of the town, just being almost in a check up stage, just seeing if everyone was okay, how was everyone doing. what was students--, checking on students, checking on elders, seeing--. I see during this period in the life of the church, a lot of the deaths in the families, so it was just families reconnecting just circling to see the status of life in Chapel Hill.
