Patricia “Pat” Jackson (PJ): I also brought an article that I wanted to share from 2005 and it talks about home-grown businesses in the Midway Business Center. The Midway Business Center was the original place that here on Rosemary Street was our financial district. Was the place where all the businesses were Black owned and then when Pastor Harrison and Mrs. Harrison came to St. Joseph and, in 2005, she started a business in that same business–Midway Business–center. We were so proud and excited to be a part of our first lady at that time having a business there in our historic business center.
Kathryn Wall: What was the business that she started?
PJ: A floral business. She had had a floral shop in her early life, her and her mother, when she was in New Jersey.
