Emma Fowler - On growing up in Chapel Hill and Northside

Interviewed by Emily DeSimone and Hannah Clager

This interview provides into Fowler's life growing up in Chapel Hill, her church attendance, and her education at Northside Elementary School. She goes into the neighborhood and family dynamics as well. She shares that her father worked for UNC. She spends her leisure time playing music and learning to play piano and gardening. The interview also shows how she spent her time on UNC campus as a child, school segregation, racism in New Jersey, involvement in church, specifically Faith Tabernacle Oasis of Love International Church. She talks about Rev. Manley and First Baptist Church. Her high school education at Lincoln High School living in Baltimore, living in Chapel Hill.
