Albert "Bruce" Washington - Advice (clip)

Interviewed by Yvonne Cleveland and Priya Sreenivasan on March 11, 2023

Albert “Bruce” Washington (ABW): Well they need to make sure that they get their money for their labor. That’s what they need to do. Because the government has got it set up where you have to pay so many taxes and general liability and insurance and stuff like that, you know. So they just need to go…

Yvonne Cleveland (YC): Was it different when you were doing it? Did you have all of that to deal with or?

ABW: Yeah, we had to pay workmen’s comp and general liability, and it was really high, so if any of the guys got hurt, they could be covered. Or if something happened out on the job, people would be covered. If the wind comes and blows the wall down, we would be covered, because we had the general liability and stuff. But it cost a lot of money.
